Friends of Freycinet

Do you dream of being stowed away on one of Tasmania’s best offshore islands amidst blue sea and pink granite? Oh, and ……. a significant infestation of weeds, which are diminishing thanks to your efforts?

Make a difference this summer, by joining the Friends of Freycinet on their Annual Schouten Island working bee from 6-15th December.

You will be surrounded by wild beauty (and that’s just the volunteers!) and a rich history of farming and coal mining.

This working bee requires self sufficient volunteers with their own tents and all their food.

Tasks will include weeding of gorse, periwinkle and sea spurge, as well as setting up the camp for the summer Camp Ground Host program.

Numbers are limited by the capacity of the Park’s boat to transport people there and of course, the weather.

Please read this Information Sheet and submit your expression of interest by to friendsoffreycinet@gmail.com by Sunday 31st October.

Successful applicants will be notified by November 7th.
