Friends of Freycinet

Can you help them celebrate with the gift of your time?

Formed when Wildcare Tasmania was in its infancy, the Friends of Freycinet are this year, celebrating their 20th anniversary! Much has been achieved in time and the group continues to coordinate five, week-long working bees each year.

This 2003 article in the SunCoast News marks the group’s commencement. Skip forward to 2023 to see their current activities summarised here.

Whilst the coordination of on ground efforts is going strong, the group is seeking volunteers with leadership skills to help provide higher level guidance and move it into a thriving future.

Help is required in the following areas:

  • Liaising with the Parks & Wildlife Service to develop Volunteer Program plans
  • Liaising with other organisations to seek sponsorship and apply for Grants
  • Developing and driving ideas for future directions
  • Engaging with the local community and inspiring enthusiasm to get involved
  • Responding to enquiries and working with the Wildcare Tasmania Office to promote the group/share its story and communicate with current and potential members.

If you would like to apply your love of this special place to creating a thriving future for this group please send a paragraph or two about yourself and your interest in supporting the Friends of Freycinet in this way to: friendsoffreycinet@gmail.com by 21 April.
