FOMI invites bids for this beautiful painting of the Maatsuyker Island lighthouse. Funds raised will contribute towards urgent conservation works on the lighthouse.

The winning bid will be announced at this year’s FOMI AGM.

The FOMI AGM will be held on Tuesday 13th October 2015, at the Derwent Sailing Squadron (Marieville Esplanade, Sandy Bay). The AGM will commence at 6.00 pm, followed by dinner, the art auction, and guest speaker. All welcome. Please RSVP to wildcaremaatsuyker@gmail.com if you would like to attend.

If you cannot attend the AGM but would still like to bid for the painting, silent bids by email are welcome (see Bidding Rules).

About the Artist

Kate Worthington and her partner Bruce Frankcombe were caretakers on Maatsuyker Island for seven months in 2014, during which time Kate had the opportunity to explore her passion for painting.

About the Painting

Kate’s beautiful landscape painting is an original acrylic on canvas, 50 x 70 cm, featuring the Maatsuyker Island lighthouse with the Needle Rocks in the background.

Bidding Rules

The painting has a reserve price of $500 and will be auctioned at the FOMI AGM.

If you cannot attend the AGM, silent bids by email will be accepted until midday Tuesday 13th October 2015. Email your name, contact details and value of your silent bid to wildcaremaatsuyker@gmail.com. The value of the current highest bid, submitted by email, will be updated regularly on the FOMI Facebook page. Silent bidders’ details will remain confidential.

At the AGM, a live auction will be held. Any silent bids that have been received by email prior midday Tuesday 13th October will be included in the live auction. The silent bids will remain confidential until bidding commences at the AGM and those bids are surpassed, or unless one of the silent bids is the winning bid.

The winning bid will be announced at the AGM.

Payment must be made to FOMI within 14 days of the winning bid being announced. If payment is not received within 14 days the next highest bidder will be contacted with the opportunity to purchase the painting at their bid price.
