By Greig Clarke, President, Friends of the Penguin Cradle Trail with thanks to Bob, Lambert and Glen.

Last Saturday, (22nd May), the Friends of the Penguin Cradle Trail working bee, held at Loongana on Saturday (22nd May), focussed on a
short section of track from Taylors Flats to the base of Black Bluff.

The small number of volunteers able to attend worked well, as it was an ideal time for Lambert and Bob to hone their brush cutter skills after recently completing the training course that was made possible by Wildcare and PWS.

The ferns needed to be cut back and several fallen tees removed from the track. We met a couple of walkers heading up Black Bluff and although it was a mild day, the misty cloud didn’t really lift … but at least they had a nice track for part of their journey.

It is good to spend time and be active in the bush, as the world seems much further away.
