Wildcare Get Outside Volunteers met today in the hot sun to meet each other and get prepared for an exciting new project – Weekly Walking with Students studying English. The aim of the program is to link up with language students as they finish their daily lessons, and go for a short walk, make friends and chat.

For many of us who love bushwalking, going for a walk is easy, but for many people the habit is not engrained. If you are new to a country and don’t know the language or the lay of the land then going for a walk with locals is a great way to learn new skills and meet new friends. Maybe one day you will even start volunteering in a Wildcare group.

If you would like to join us for a 30 minute weekly walk on a Wednesday leaving from 75 Campbell Street Hobart at 1.55pm – 2.35 pmĀ  during school terms then contact jodie at jodiegetoutside@gmail.com
