I love finding a new reserve and sharing it with people. This trip I got to share the trip with 14 young people who are all studying English. Thanks to local volunteers Sandy and Rhys, and their dog Albie for showing us around. We saw beautiful views of The Channel, Hobart and Bruny Island. The tall trees were gorgeous and we sang songs, read poetry and made new friends. We went down to the marine reserve managed by T. P.W.S for lunch and had a special surprise birthday for one of the young woman. We skipped stones and where we were lucky enough to see a small shark. Thanks to the teacher Gini for helping make these great connections. Without opportunities like those of Get Outside, people new to Tasmania ( for many reasons) don’t get the opportunity to discover this beautiful state and fall in love with it like the rest of us. Thanks to the Bennelong Foundation for the funding.
