Weeding Montpellier Broom and AGM – on Maria Is. – 13-18th March 2018

(leave Triabunna on Tues. pm and returning Sun am – times depending upon ferry operations)

We will be monitoring and clearing the regrowth on Upper Skipping Ridge and then return to the Bernacchis valley sites. Weeding involves pulling smaller plants and cutting and pasting larger plants (very few). We usually work in areas of rough terrain and thick bush. Tools and instruction provided.

The Sea Spurge on Riedle Beach and Pt Lesueur will also need to be checked.

AGM – We will have a meeting to elect office bearers (President and Treasurer and Secretary)

If you are interested in taking a position or helping in any way please contact Dave Reynolds (reynoldsfamily@netspace.net.au) or myself.

Average hours worked are 6-7 this includes walking to sites and meal breaks.

Cost of transport to island is covered.

Because of major road works occurring on the island at this time, it is likely our usual accommodation will be taken by workmen. At the worst we may have to stay in the Penitentiary (or camp if you prefer) this will mean more limited facilities.

I will confirm our accommodation nearer the time.
