Friends of Maatsuyker Island (FOMI) Working Bee – weed control and shearwater monitoring
Our mission on the 24th September is to assist Parks ferry in and install 'long-needed' directional signs to and on the Winterbrook Falls track. Winterbrook Falls, located approx 40km south of Ulverstone, is an impressive 3 tier set of falls on Winter Brook which cascades 200m off Fossey Mountain (near Bllck Bluff) and then flows into the Leven River. The track, which at times follows an old logging tramway wanders through a diverse temperate rainforest including the most northern stand of King Billy Pines, some over 1000 years old.
Travel and meeting arrangements will be forwarded to registered volunteers closer to the date. NB: We will endeavour to carpool in Ulverstone and drive straight to Winterbrook rather than commencing from Cradle Mountain.
This event is open to Wildcare members. Please login to register or, we warmly welcome you to Join Wildcare if you are visiting our site. For help with logging in or joining Wildcare please contact our friendly team at memberservices@wildcaretas.org.au or ph 0361654230.

With summer and longer days it is time to head out and explore more parts of the PCT as I am sure there will be areas in need of us giving it some care and attention.
