Our first event is coming up soon! We will be surveying weed infestations along the Ocean Beach Trail in Strahan to collect data and mark large infestations to help us develop a management plan for effectively removing them. The most common weed along the trail is Montpelier broom (Genista monspessulana), but other weeds such as gorse, lupines and thistles may be present too.

We will be meeting at 9am at the Ocean Beach Trail Carpark (Location: https://westcoasttas.com.au/listings/ocean-beach-trail), and will walk the 2km trail in both directions, marking weeds as we go. We will have a bit of morning tea, either at the beach or the carpark depending on the weather situation.

Bring some good walking shoes, warm clothes, and a raincoat.

Please contact Luke Cooper at friendsofthehenty@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Hope to see you there!
