Our first multiday working bee of the year is coming up on the 6th and 7th of April! Here's the rough plan for the weekend,

Day 1: Weeding gorse at the Henty Dunes or Henty River Mouth (location TBC), from 8:30am to 3pm with lunch provided. Dinner provided that night also

Day 2: Weeding broom at the end of the Ocean Beach Trail from 9am to 12pm.

We hope you can join us, either for one of the days or both! To come along, you must be signed up as an NRE volunteer. You can do so here, and it takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete: https://app.betterimpact.com/Application?OrganizationGuid=aa3c186c-ebde-4f84-9091-6abaef6dc2be&ApplicationFormNumber=1

For the first day, we will meet at the Parks and Wildlife Workshop (17 Herbert Street) at 8:30am. We will carpool out to the worksite from there.

We will work on the gorse, cutting and pasting, until around 3pm, stopping for a lunch break at 12.

If you are around on Saturday night, we will have a group dinner, either at the West Strahan Beach BBQ's or People's Park BBQ's depending on the wind direction!

For the second day, we will meet at the Parks Workshop again at 8:45am. Then head to the Ocean Beach Carpark. We will walk up the beach to the end of the Ocean Beach Trail where we will be cutting broom in the coastal grassland and underneath the closed scrub forest. Here we can also inspect the progress of the recently released sea spurge biocontrol!

As always there will be tea and snacks provided on both days.

We will be watching the weather, and the event may be postponed or changed depending on this.

For those coming from out of town, we have limited free accomodation options. Please get in touch if you need accomodation. There are are also number of alternative accommodation options in Strahan, including camping at either of the 2 caravan parks, or camping at Macquarie Heads.
