Cape Deslacs Nature Reserve working bee
The Cape Deslacs Nature Reserve contains perched dune fields of national significance. The resident colony of Short-tailed Shearwater (Tasmanian Muttonbird) is estimated to support 8,000 burrows, and is protected by Tasmanian legislation. Wildcare Deslacs undertakes a range of activities, including weed control and feral animal trapping, to protect these natural values.

This is a Clean Up Australia activity, with a focus on the three reserved lands at Clifton Beach: the Clifton Beach Coastal Reserve, Pipe Clay Lagoon Coastal Reserve, and Cape Deslacs Nature Reserve.

Pipe Clay Lagoon Coastal Reserve working bee (May)
The Pipe Clay Lagoon Reserve saltmarsh provides essential breeding, feeding and roosting habitat for local and migratory shorebirds. Wildcare Deslacs undertakes a range of activities to protect and maintain saltmarsh health.
