Friends of Bruny Is Quarantine Station

Where we work

We work at the old Quarantine Station, 816 Killora Road, North Bruny. Follow the signs from the Dennes Pt. turn off and don’t forget to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a stroll around our self guided Heritage Walk and view the fascinating displays. The site is open:
  • Thursday to Monday (inclusive) 10:am to 4:00pm - closed Tuesday, Wednesday
  • Closed Christmas Day

What we do

WILDCARE Friends of Bruny Island Quarantine Station is interested in repairing and maintaining the Quarantine Station buildings and surroundings, and increasing public appreciation and understanding of the site. FOBIQS MeetingA Volunteer Caretakers program operates all year and is run by the Parks and Wildlife Service. Volunteer Caretakers  provide a physical presence at the Quarantine Station, open the Station to visitors on the weekends, provide visitor information about the heritage self- guided walk, provide other information about the natural history of the area, carry out minor maintenance and assist with coordination of other Parks and Wildlife Services (PWS) and Friends of Bruny Island Quarantine Station (FOBIQS) activities at the site.
