FREE whale rescue training

Tasmania is a hotspot for mass whale strandings, with over 80% of Australia’s whale strandings occurring here.

WILDCARE Inc. and the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service are conducting a free training session for all interested volunteers in First Response Whale Rescue.

Training is aimed at everyone: specialists, rangers and volunteers (and college-aged students) who want to make a difference at a whale stranding or other marine wildlife incident. All participants will be eligible to join Tasmania’s Wildcare First Response Teams – whale rescue or marine wildlife incidents.

Sunday 28th July, 9am to 3pm @ Parks and Wildlife, Seven Mile Beach Office

RSVP required: parkseducation@parks.tas.gov.au

Bring: Wetsuit, lunch, pen and paper, and lots of enthusiasm! Morning tea and snacks will be provided.
