George Town will be the location of this year’s Wildcare AGM on Saturday, 24 March 2018, starting at 11am. The venue will be the Bass and Flinders Centre, 8 Elizabeth Street (map).
Part of the display at the Bass and Flinders Centre Following the meeting there will be a tour of the Centre, which includes the full-sized, working replica of the Norfolk, the vessel that Bass and Flinders sailed from Sydney and around Tasmania in 1798, thereby proving the existence of Bass Strait. Additionally, there is a host of restored wooden boats and other maritime memorabilia. Lunch will also be provided. For those wishing to stay longer, there will be a choice of other activities in the afternoon, including a coastal walk from George Town to Low Head, a walking tour of some of the historic buildings of George Town and a visit to the Low Head Pilot Station Maritime Museum.
