During the winter it is often unpleasant for work in the higher parts of the park, but the weather was nice, and we decided to tackle trimming of the early part of the Lake Nicholls Track. It wasn’t particularly overgrown, but a trim now would save more extensive work later. About 400 metres of track was trimmed back by the time lunch at Beatties Tarn was called.
A few light spots fell for a while during lunch but stopped, only to start again when we recommenced work and then became heavy forcing a halt to the day’s activities.
This month we will again be working in the high country, depending on the weather. See details in the Wildcare events calendar for 21 August.
