October's working bee saw our fabulous Wildcare Cradle Mountain Volunteers separated into two teams to tackle some big tasks knowing that the weather was finally on their side.
A team of four spent the day at Cradle and enjoyed the perfect weather conditions that meant they could continue with oiling benches at the Visitor Centre. They also spent some time walking the King Billy and Enchanted Walks trimming overhanging vegetation and picking up litter. The view of snow still sitting on Cradle from the seats on the King Billy track is always a highlight.
A deep clean of the Visitor Centre carpark was completed with the collection of 5 bags of litter, approximately 50 litres of rubbish blown into the surrounding vegetation.
At Winterbrook Falls a team of 7 volunteers completed track pruning all the way to the waterfall. It was also a well-earned chance to soak up the ambience of the forest, admire moss covered rocks and be lulled by dabbling creeks and cascading waterfall.
