What we are doing

WILDTALK - SATURDAY APRIL 2 (HOBART)

Posted 23 Mar, 2022
MARK YOUR DIARIES - WILDTALK SATURDAY 2 APRIL  4.30pm, Site 9 Waterworks Reserve There is some comfort in knowing that an area we love is protected as a National Park or Reserve, but this doesn’t ensure immunity from the threats that face all natural areas. The task of protection is very much an active one and goes beyond the capacity of statutory land managers alone. Recognising this, (having been a keen bushwalker for over 40 years), when Peter Franklin retired, he decided to get involved in helping to care for our parks. He now leads both the Friends of Mt Field and the Friends of Wellington Park and is a legend in bushwalking and environmental care circles. Learn how the groups are contributing to the protection of these iconic areas, at the WILDTALK being given by Peter and fellow leader Stephen Mattingley. The WILDTALK is open to all - members and non-members, and will start at 4:30pm and conclude by 5.00pm. There is no need to register for the WILDTALK - just turn up :-) Wildcare Special General Meeting commencing 4pm, prior to WILDTALK  The Wildcare Special General Meeting will take place prior to the WILDTALK. The SGM is open to all Wildcare members and the purpose of the meeting is to vote on Constitutional changes, which are proposed by the Wildcare Board to modernise the Constitution.  If you are a Wildcare member, we'd love to see you at both the SGM to vote on the Constitutional changes and the WILDTALK.  Registration is necessary for the SGM - click here to register.
