What we are doing

When 'planking' doesn't mean lying down on the job!

Posted 10 Oct, 2022
Friends of Mt Field's K Col Project - this video takes you there. In this case, 'planking' doesn't mean lying down on the job! With the support of a Tasmanian Community Fund Grant, Friends of Mt Field have worked hard in conjunction with the Parks and Wildlife Service and contractors, to protect alpine vegetation along the track between K Col, The Watcher and Newdegate Pass. This video, created by President Peter Franklin takes you to Mt Field and shows how the Friends worked to prepare and install double-planking to protect this beautiful area. If you'd like to be part of the action at Mt Field, why not join a working bee? On THIS Sunday 15 October, help the Friends to maintain the track between Lake Fenton and Lake Webster. Details at this link. On Saturday 19 November, work will commence on the Mt Field East Track, southwest of Windy Moor. More details at this link.
