WILDCARE Cradle Mountain Volunteers

What we are doing

Connect Up at Cradle-Information and Training Day

Posted 10 Oct, 2022

Wildcare Cradle Mountain has made a strong comeback to volunteering at Cradle Mountain following the covid break, with 53 volunteers clocking up 1200 hours in the past year.  One thing that has been missing on the WCMV events calendar has been the chance to physically come together in larger numbers, but it is now possible to hold a special event that facilitates “connecting-up” of WCMV members.

Consequently, WCMV and the Cradle Rangers have planned the Connect Up at Cradle event which will be held in the Cradle Mountain Interpretation Centre on 22nd October. Topics will include volunteer opportunities and obligations, work health and safety, systems of work and communication as well as practical skill training of pruning techniques. For new WCMV members, who are keen to put their “passion into action” it will be a great opportunity to find out all about volunteering at Cradle Mountain. For current WCMV volunteers…... it will be a chance to share their knowledge and stories and brush up on their skills.       For WCMV track pruners……it will be an exciting chance to try the new battery-powered pruning tools purchased with funding from Wildcare.   For  everyone…… it will be a chance to catch up with old and make new Wildcare friends. Further details and registration:  here  The Connect Up at Cradle event is being supported by Community grant funding provided by Federal M.P. Brian Mitchell.
