Call up for track-pruners at Lake St Clair

Posted 05 Feb, 2020
The Shadow Lake track is one of Tasmania's 60 Great Short Walks  and commences at Lake St Clair, winds its way up through incredible towering snowgums, then crosses sub-alpine moorlands before arriving at Shadow Lake at an altitude of 950m. PWS Lake St Clair have put out a call for volunteer assistance with the removal of overgrown vegetation in the Shadow Lake region during the weekend 21st-23rd February. This will involve a walk in and overnight camp at Shadow Lake to facilitate easier access to the higher sections which require the most work Volunteers will be required to be self reliant in providing appropriate bushwalking gear, food and camping equipment for sub-alpine conditions. Interested in this special event?  Please register on the Wildcare calendar https://wildcaretas.org.au/event/1000001617/ For further information please contact PWS  North-West Volunteer Co-ordinator, Jenna Huisman : jenna.huisman@parks.tas.gov.au or phone 0409 506 432
