Message from our Chair on the departure of our CEO, Jill Maxwell

Posted 04 Dec, 2024

To our members, volunteers, and supporters,

Jill Maxwell has resigned from our CEO position with her last day to be Thursday 5th December. As our CEO over the past year+, Jill has led a number of key initiatives to better position Wildcare for our future growth and sustainability. These included developing a communications plan, reviewing our Strategic Plan (which will be released publicly shortly), beginning to implement our new membership policy as well as establishing a number of other key organisational foundations to address some internal policy gaps and risks.

I know we would all wish to thank Jill for her efforts and contributions, and wish her the very best for the future.

Jill Maxwell

The Board will initiate an open recruitment process in the new year to permanently fill this critical CEO position.

In the interim, Phillip Laroche who joined us recently as our Membership Services Manager will step up into a new position as our Operations Manager. Phillip will work closely with Linda Lever, our Financial Services Manager, and the Wildcare Board to continue to support the valued and vital work all our Wildcare family do to care for our wild places.

I know you will also support Phillip and Linda in these intervening times until we have our full team re-established.

Finally, I want to close by thanking all of you, our valued members who contribute your time, energy and care that makes Wildcare Tasmania such a truly wonderful community organisation. With your ongoing support the Board and I look forward to seeing this continue for many years to come.

Warm regards,

Donna Burton
Wildcare Chair
