Where we work
We work along the remote south coast beaches of Tasmania, in the stunning South West National Park, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
What we do
Each year, a beach clean-up and monitoring program is conducted by the Wildcare Coastal Custodians along the remote south coast beaches of Tasmania. Volunteers are chosen and invited to travel to the remote beaches where they collect and catalogue the rubbish. The identification and recording of rubbish allows work to be done to reduce particular types of rubbish.
Facing the Southern Ocean the coast is battered by storms and wild weather, bringing with it a variety of rubbish and fishing equipment.
