Dear Wildcare Members and guests,

You're invited to join Friends of Bruny Island Quarantine Station (FOBIQS) for two upcoming multi-day weeding working bees. 

This is a great opportunity to contribute to preserving the heritage and natural values of the Bruny Island Quarantine Station Reserve and maybe make some new friends!  

The trip dates are:

• 16-18 December 2024

• 13-15 January 2025

Trip details:

• Wildcare Members and the general public are welcome to volunteer for all or part of the trips
• Volunteers must be 18 years and over
• Camping is available onsite
• Free ferry tickets
• On Tuesday evening, a BBQ meal including salads is provided free
• Snacks are provided throughout the trips 
• All tools and PPE provided
• Sturdy shoes/boots are a must
• Long work pants (walking through bushland and spikey plants) and sun protection are advised
• Gaiters are also handy at times
• We allow free time to enjoy the site which is also great for swimming (near the jetty) if the weather is kind to us
• All volunteers are protected by volunteer insurance and must be willing to follow all safety instructions
