The WILDCARE Wild Bushwalking Tracks cause was established following a significant donation to support the management and maintenance of remote, spectacular wilderness walks in Tasmania’s parks and reserves from Alan and Hilary Wallace. WILDCARE Wild Bushwalking Tracks supports projects dealing with one or more of the following themes:
- management and maintenance of wilderness walks
- track maintenance on more remote wilderness tracks*
- hut and camping facility maintenance
- education for wilderness walkers
- on-track walker information
The Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) will be invited annually to submit priority wilderness-track* projects for consideration for funding. *The PWS has a “T” rating for tracks that identifies wilderness tracks – primarily T3 and T4 tracks, but in some cases T2.
If you value the preservation of ‘wild and genuine’ bushwalking experiences, accompanied with sound conservation principles, please support the wonderful Wallace family legacy.
