  • Care for Tasmania’s spectacular natural environment including the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, National Parks, islands and other land managed for conservation;
  • Maintain healthy habitat for our native plants and animals; and
  • Minimise impacts in Tasmania’s wild places.

Many of the projects will be value-added with the efforts of Wildcare and other volunteers.

Wildcare Tasmania takes a $0 admin fee from donations.  We know that a $0 fee is rare and we work hard to maintain this.  If you would like to support us, please know that your donation helps.  You can also help by joining us as a member

About Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage Area and other wild places

The Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area is world famous and is one of the largest conservation areas in Australia. The 1.58 million hectare Area encompasses almost a quarter of Tasmania and is one of only two properties in the world listed under the World Heritage Convention on the basis of three cultural heritage and four natural heritage criteria. The property has exceptional wilderness areas, including outstanding alpine ecosystems and cool temperate rainforests, home to many unique and threatened species.

Tasmania’s 19 National Parks and over 800 reserves also help protect unique habitats and ecosystems, and ensure that these valuable natural and cultural values will persist for generations to come.

Tasmania is so much more than an island state of Australia. Surrounded by over 330 islands, the archipelago of Tasmania is amongst the last unspoiled natural places in the world.

These are wild and special places. Let’s care for them.
