The Tasmanian Nature Conservation Fund (TNCF) ensures equitable funding by providing grants for priority nature conservation projects, including work by Wildcare groups and volunteers with limited fundraising capacity or public profile.

By giving to the TNCF, you help Wildcare direct funding where it is needed most, supporting targeted, impactful conservation work delivered throughout Tasmania's environment, in partnership with land managers, environmental agencies, researchers, conservation organisations and local communities.

Your generosity enables us to support our community volunteer groups and members across Tasmania with grants to:

Care for, restore, and minimise impacts on our natural habitats, including Tasmania's national parks and reserves.
Protect, monitor, rescue, and rehabilitate Tasmania's native wildlife, focusing on at-risk species that need our help most.

One fund – Statewide impact

In 2023-24, we conducted a comprehensive review of the TNCF, consulting widely with members, donors and stakeholders. The review led to changes that ensure the fund's long-term sustainability and alignment with regulatory requirements.

All TNCF donations are now directed into a single consolidated fund, allowing us to flexibly support the most worthy and eligible Wildcare group and member-led projects across Tasmania.
Funding continues to be distributed through our biannual grant program, and the independent Wildcare Grants Committee assesses all applications.
Eligible applicants include:
- Wildcare groups
- Wildcare's CEO
- Individual Wildcare members (excluding corporate members)
- Applicants may apply individually or in partnership with other organisations

The TNCF is a secure, strategic, and impactful way to support Tasmania's environment.
