The purpose of this group is to assist survival and recovery of native wildlife following the 2019 bushfires and future such emergency events in Tasmania’s Central Highlands area and identify and work towards ameliorating other threats to wildlife and the natural environment in the Central Highlands.

Who we are

The purpose of this group is to:

1. Assist survival and recovery of native wildlife following the 2019 bushfires and future such emergency events in Tasmania’s Central Highlands area and

2. Identify and work towards ameliorating other threats to wildlife and the natural environment in the Central Highlands.

Where we work

The Central Plateau area of Tasmania, excluding National Parks.

What we do

1. Supporting post-fire surviving animal species in identified high-need areas through to
their ability to sustain themselves from vegetation regrowth.

2. Fostering and rehabilitation of orphaned and injured animals in the area.

3. Identifying areas of concern for future work.
