We lugged dead trees from paths, weeded sweet pittosporum and gorse, combed beaches for sea spurge, straightened fences, replaced posts, painted signs, spread mulch, built a table, visited Meetus and Harding Falls, fixed a gas bbq but most importantly we had a great time. Its remarkable how 10 volunteers from all over the state find the time and get on so well as to make them want to come back and do it again.
.
One reason is that the Parks staff are easy to get along with, appreciate what we do and drop whatever they have been assigned to help us out with our list of tasks.
Its has been a pleasure to work this week for Friends of Freycinet under the direction of Ranger Fiona Everts and FoF Branch president David Harris, even to listen to his rendition of poetry from CJ Dennis.
Recommended to all, join Friends of Freycinet as we have 4 more working bees this year. See the website for details.
