Dave Harris, our President and wordsmith, has summed it up well with this verse.
They did not come from near But very far.
Want to do weeding? You are a star.
From Slender Cotton Bush, and the usual nasties to Banana Passion Fruit.
All were given the proverbial boot!
Some other jobs were on the list
Look at the photos, you will get the gist.
Otherwise we have had another great time at Freycinet and we managed to get some little videos on to Wildcare's Facebook page. Check out Ranger Fiona Everts describing the cache of 2403 stubbies we pulled out of the tea tree at Flack's Road carpark to Moulting Lagoon and Dave Harris staring in the other video on Richardsons Beach describing our work.
We also ranged from weeding Spanish Heath at the northern end of the Douglas Apsley National Park, to clearing rubbish at Whalers Lookout in Bicheno, oiling the Cape Tourville decking and rubbish run to the Wineglass Bay lookout. The River and Rocks campground was weeded of passion fruit vines and broken glass from the sand in the drive ways. We also pulled scotch thistles from Richardsons Beach in Coles Bay.
.
But once again we had a great time working with the Park Rangers. This is the highlight of our working bee, doing something that makes a difference in a beautiful Park we all love with such wonderful volunteers who are keen to come back for more.
