Is volunteering worth it?
Its sometimes hard to know if your volunteer efforts are worth it, so its especially pleasing when you are paid a compliment. This is what one group of walkers thought about the Overland Track Hut Wardens program?
“The welcome, the attitude, the helpfulness, I was absolutely blown away. Everything from great walking advice, suggested walks, to helping us waterproof and reline our bags, and giving us some amazing Parmesan cheese. The volunteers at Waterfall Valley Hut on Tuesday 29th January 2008 were nothing short of FANTASTIC !!! and deserve special mention and major thanks. So thank you. The Irish/English Lads, Joe, Mark and Neil”
