On Saturday 19th March members met to elect the new committee for the Friends of Bruny Island Quarantine. All positions were filled and the 2016 committee is Kathy Duncombe (President), Peter Williams (Secretary), Richard Moyer (Treasurer), Jenny Boyer and Paul Shelley (Committee members) and Rob Banfield (Publicity Officer). The Treasurer’s report noted a solid financial position with all tied grants expended and projects completed. The President’s report noted a year of developments on many levels including growth in visitor numbers, completion of the FOBIQS first strategic plan and goals, developments of greatly improved facilities for visitors and a productive partnership with Parks officers. Parks officer Scott Thornton assisted the meeting and complimented the group on their energy, vision and activity.

After the AGM an extensive discussion and list of potential future projects was mooted. A successful grant application for a Community Science Engagement Day on October 23rd was discussed and all members were keen to assist with this event.
