Weeding Montpellier Broom on Maria Is. Sept. 15 – 20th 2017

(leave Triabunna on Fri. pm and returning Wed. am – times depending upon ferry operations)

We will continue monitoring and clearing the regrowth on Skipping Ridge and Bernacchis valley sites.
Weeding involves pulling smaller plants and cutting and pasting larger plants (very few).
We will work in areas of rough terrain and thick bush. Tools and instruction provided.

Average hours worked are 6-7 this includes walking to sites and meal breaks.
Cost of transport to island is covered.
* New ferry is now operating and luggage arrangements have yet to be finalized.

Accommodation – Because of likely road works planned for the island (and the workshop accommodation occupied) we will probably be using Preros huts. This will limit volunteer numbers to 6.

– Preros accommodation – 1 double room + 2 small bunk rooms. Small kitchen, gas stove, fridge/freezer, pans, crockery + bathroom with shower.
For 6 vols.
