Rather like a back-yard blitz, (but on a National Park scale) its incredible the number of jobs that can be completed with a hard-working team over 5 days.

This year’s Spring-bee will be carried out over one 5 day week 20th-24th Nov. with a team limit of 12 volunteers. Focus for the week will be track pruning within the Day-walk area (and beyond} along with other special jobs (eg. re-vegetation and weed control, heritage project, general maintenance}  to make the week varied and interesting. Accommodation is provided in Cradle Valley and there will be an option for experienced overnight bush-walkers to camp out and work in the Lake Rodway area.

Volunteers will need to have a good level of fitness and bush-walking experience as we will be working out on track for most of the day, walking 10+/- km on varied and sometimes steep terrain. They will need to be self-sufficient with food, clothing, full rain-gear and bush-walking equipment. All training, tools and PPE gear is provided, along with comfortable basic shared accommodation.

Interested? And available for the full 5 days? Sign up now by registering on the Wildcare calendar.

Please include if you have a current First-aid qualification. Also tell us if you would be interested in camping out at Lake Rodway in the notes.

If you are an enthusiastic first-time volunteer at Cradle Mountain, we’d like you to tell us about your bush-walking and volunteer experience, any special skills and interests that you have to offer and that you have registered with NRE Tas.

We understand that circumstances change but due to the popularity of our working-bees, and event limits, it is important that we are advised if you are no longer available.
