Wellington Park Event – FULL

Meet the leaders, supporters and volunteers of the Seabird Island Restoration Group in person. This group is about to set its plans into motion – eradicating feral vertebrates and invasive plants on small islands throughout Tasmania to restore and protect nesting seabird populations.
SIRG volunteers work in small groups of 5-6 in the field to be efficient with boat use. The first two seasons of the work will often be in thick bush (Mirror Bush, our number one target for removal) in rough terrain and it is important for all people to keep in regular communication while on the remote islands.
Getting to know each other well before a work stint, helps with the smooth running of the trips and this is an opportunity to join with the whole group and learn more about what they are planning and how you can volunteer or otherwise support this important work.
