Penguin Cradle Trail Working Bee
Autumn is upon us and the days are cooling a little, but still plenty of daylight, so why not join us for a pleasant outing in the bush.
We will hold our second working bee for removing the large stand of Boneseed and Boxthorn plants at Shark Point. We will cut and paint the shrubs with glyphosate and avoid pulling anything other than small seedlings. This is to minimise any disturbance to the soil and bank.
Our plan is to eventually rid this zone of these noxious species and allow for re-establishment of the local native plants.
We will meet at:
Where: 533 Shark Point Road, Penna
When: 9am on Sunday 16th May
Wear: Long sleeved shirt, long pants; sturdy shoes, protective gloves, sunhat
Equipment to bring: Secateurs (long handled or short); hand saws, pruning saws
Food/ drink: Bring small day pack with any snacks and water you may need, as we will be there for 2 and a half hours.
Lunch: We will follow with brunch/ lunch on verandah or courtyard at noon!
See you there!
