Work is to commence on upgrading the short section of track known as the Fagus Walk at Lake Fenton. The FOMF obtained a grant from the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife and this enables us to purchase gravel and get a contractor to help with work.
The track is being improved from the bridge at Lake Fenton to the junction with the Mount Field East track. On other areas drainage will be undertaken to remove water that currently runs down the track above the lake.
The work will be over several days and FOMF will be involved
whenever there are volunteers to help

We will be surveying areas on King Island for critically endangered Orange-bellied Parrots (OBPs) during their northern migration from South West Tasmania to the mainland as well as participating in the Wings on King bird survey.
