Wildcare Lumeah Point

Feral Oyster Removal

11.00a.m. Sunday 15th February

Change of plans

The plans for an off shore clean up involving Windsurfing Tasmania volunteers, followed by a community BBQ have had to be altered. The oyster farmers are experiencing a very busy period and on this day are unable to provide the staff and equipment to support this activity off shore. Also our Windsurfing Tasmania stalwart Andrew Houston has returned from a skiing holiday with a broken leg. We wish Andrew a speedy recovery.

We will proceed with our on shore oyster removal.

A registration desk will be set up at 10.45a.m and it is essential that participants register and read the safety guidelines. If you can bring a cold chisel, hammers, tomahawks or other suitable tools as well as safety goggles that would be great. Gloves will be available if required. Solid, enclosed footwear is required and appropriate sun protection recommended.

If possible it would be helpful if you could advise Garry Hulme that you plan to participate.
