The first Wildcare Get Outside Trip for the season was held on a gorgeous sunny day at Taroona Beach. This trip coincided with a local art festival which was a great way to new arrivals to see what local Tasmanians do with their spare time on the weekend. This trip was led by the newly trained Get Outside Leaders and a total of 26 people came along on the walk which included games and a picnic lunch.

The Get Outside Program takes people newly arrived to Tasmania out into nature so that they can enjoy the natural beauty of Tasmania’s national parks and reserves AND meet some locals. Thanks to the Get Outside leaders and volunteers who came along, and out partners Catholic Care and Tas Tafe for assisting us to fill up the trip with participants. Keep an eye on the Wildcare calendar for future events to join – we always have a great day.
