Who we are

We are a group of qualified Vets and Vet Nurses who are passionate about Tasmania’s wildlife. We wish to use our professional training to assist injured wildlife on a voluntary basis. To join us you will need to be a Wildcare member, and a professional in the area of veterinary care. If you are not a vet professional, but would like to care for wildlife, then it is recommended that you join one of the Wildcare wildlife carer groups (See Groups list for details).

What we do

We are available to respond to emergency incidents where wildlife are potentially injured. This includes post-bushfire, whale strandings and oil spills. We attend these events at the invitation of the Incident Controllers of these emergency incidents. We work closely with the many wildlife carer volunteers who take on long term care and rehabilitation of injured animals, and who are also involved in wildlife rescue and care at incident sites..
