Our members undertake conservation and maintenance work in the colonies of Little Penguins in the Derwent and D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Alongside other volunteers from Council and private landowners we also assist with population counts and breeding surveys.

Who we are

We work cooperatively as volunteers alongside Parks and Wildlife Service, Derwent Estuary Program, Private landholders and Kingborough Council

What we do

We undertake conservation and maintenance work in the colonies of Little Penguins in the Derwent and D’Entrecasteaux Channel. This work will increase the number of suitable nesting sites, control weeds and plant native habitat plants to improve the condition of the colonies. We will also assist other Little Penguin conservation work such as population and breeding surveys, building artificial burrows and other work as needed.
