After training, our members are ready to assist with whale rescues at any time of the day. Some rescues occur in isolated locations and extend over a number of days, so members in this group should be prepared to travel to the the East Coast of Tasmania, in a self sufficient manner, possibly for an extended period of time.

Wildcare Whale Rescue First Response Team – East Coast was established following a training course on Orford in November 2011.

We will respond to requests for assistance from the Parks and Wildlife Service at strandings along the East Coast.

Trained Wildcare Frist Response Team members are the fiorst volunteers to be called on in response to strandings. Teams operate around Tasmania.
